Ancilla Primary & Junior High School successfully conducted its 2026 Prefectship Elections,marking an important milestone in the school’s commitment to nurturing leadership, responsibility, and democratic values among students.The electoral process commenced with the opening of nominations, during which interested and qualified students picked nomination forms and submitted their applications for the various prefectship positions. Following the nomination stage, candidates underwent a vetting exercise conducted by the Electoral Committee to assess their leadership qualities, discipline,communication skills, and readiness to serve the school community.
Candidates who successfully passed the vetting process were approved to contest in the elections and were given the opportunity to present themselves to their peers during the campaign period. Throughout the campaign, students demonstrated enthusiasm, respect, and maturity, contributing to a peaceful and engaging electoral atmosphere.
The elections were held through a secret ballot system under the supervision of the Electoral Committee. Students exercised their right to vote in an orderly and disciplined manner, ensuring a transparent and credible process. A total of 416 valid votes were recorded.
At the close of polls, votes were counted and verified by the Electoral Committee before the official declaration of results. The following candidates emerged victorious in their respective positions:
-Boys Prefect: Elkan Sogbadji
-Assistant Boys Prefect: Delali Banini
-Girls Prefect: Akosua Tabiri Owusu
-Compound Prefect: Nhyira Apau Akomeah
-Assistant Compound Prefect: Catherine K. Eghan
-Canteen Prefect: Nana Yaa Kyeremateng
-Assistant Sports Prefect: Andy Nyarko
-Club Prefect: Tracy Annan
-Entertainment Prefect: Jude Aduboffour A. D.
-Assistant Entertainment Prefect: Kaycie Osei-Boateng
Several candidates who contested unopposed were duly confirmed into office. In addition, the Headmistress exercised her prerogative to appoint Kwamena Amissah E. as Protocol Prefect and Nana Abena Beeko as Assistant Protocol Prefect.
As part of preparations for office, the newly elected and appointed prefects participated in an orientation programme designed to equip them with the knowledge, skills, and responsibilities required of student leaders. The orientation focused on leadership, discipline, teamwork, and service to the school community.
The electoral process culminated in a Holy Mass and Induction Ceremony, during which the prefects took their oath of office and were officially inducted into their respective positions. They were charged to lead with integrity, humility, and dedication, upholding the values and traditions of Ancilla School.
The school administration congratulates all elected and appointed prefects and expresses appreciation to all candidates, staff, students, and members of the Electoral Committee who contributed to the successful conduct of the elections.
